National Gallery of Ireland

The National Gallery of Ireland houses the national collection of Irish and European art. After the establishment by an Act of Parliament in August 1854, the gallery thrived into an autonomous national cultural institution, operating under the aegis of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport, and Media. The organisation continues caring for and safeguarding the national collection while ensuring visitors have an insightful experience.

Challenges:

Before introducing Keytracker’s key and asset management solution, The National Gallery of Ireland had another company’s key cabinet in place for their key management process, which was a bit smaller. The gallery required a solution that efficiently secured their keys and was more extensive in size to hold the keys they would obtain in the future. They also wanted a system to be of good value for money. Although their previous cabinet had met some of their requirements, the organisation decided they needed more than what they had.

Solution:

After speaking with one of Keytracker’s sales team members, The National Gallery of Ireland decided to purchase one of Keytracker’s electronic key cabinets. The cabinets were much more prominent and, therefore, allowed more space for the future management of additional keys, and it also enhanced the security of the keys, ensuring that only authorised personnel could access each key. The cabinet has a user-friendly interface and allows operations to run smoother through multiple beneficial features, such as remotely accessing the cabinet to view every update and transaction.

“A secure key cabinet was required to house our keys at the National Gallery of Ireland. Keytracker provided security and value for money ahead of its competitors. Louise on the sales team was very friendly and extremely efficient in getting everything set up and processed in a timely manner. We would have approximately 40 users of the cabinet. I would estimate users would save anything from 1-3 minutes per interaction with the new cabinet versus the old cabinet as it was slow and outdated.  The experience from sales, Installation/IT and aftercare has been excellent to date.
